Tasks for Wednesday:

1)    Dry Land Swimming (Blog)

2)  Literacy – WALT: write setting of a story.
Let's listen to Mrs Kay from ISB BSB reading a story about Lila and the Secret of Rain by David Conway and Jude Daly.

Please listen to the story.

What did you think about that story?

Next, we will be looking at the setting of the story. Setting means where a story takes place, what it looks like and what it could feel like to be there. We need to use lots of descriptive language when we talk about a setting. Descriptive language can include adjectives or similes.

Now watch Mrs Jodie as she writes a description of the story's setting.

It's your turn! Choose one of the pictures from the story and describe the setting.

Click here to find the PDF of the story and a couple writing templates.

3)  MATHS – WALT: Use positional language.
Let's watch and listen to a song about position

The green cube is under the blue cylinder.

4) Science : WALT: Make rain

How does rain form? Let's try a simple experiment at home. You will need the following:

Materials:
1) A glass
2) Hot water
3) Plate
4) Ice cubes

Instructions:
1) Pour hot water into the glass. Make sure it's half filled.
2) Cover the glass with a plate.
3) Wait for 3 minutes before putting ice cubes on the plate.
4) Observe what happens.

What happens?
The cold plate causes the moisture in the warm air, which is inside the jar to condense and form water droplets. This is the same thing that happens in the atmosphere. Warm air rises and meets colder air high in the atmosphere. The water vapor condenses and forms rain that falls to the ground.

Watch a video how we can make rain.
